Weiyang Palace (World Wonder)
The Weiyang Palace was the palace and administrative center of the Han Dynasty. It was one of the largest palace complexes in recorded history, covering an area of about 5 square kilometers (the largest surviving palace complex is the Forbidden City, which covers an area of about 0.72 square kilometers). Built under the supervision of Xiao He, the first Imperial Chancellor of the Han Dynasty, Weiyang Palace witnessed the court politics of the Western Han Dynasty and the establishment of the Silk Road. The Weiyang Palace was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt due to the rise and fall of dynasties, and finally fell into disuse during the late Tang Dynasty.
"The fragrant winds bring sacred words from the residents of Heaven,
The colorful fenghuang heralds five clouds to the Emperor of Han."
