HMAS Anzac
HMAS Anzac Was an Australian Battle Class Destroyer which served towards the end of World War 2 and into the mid 70’s as a training ship. Her sister ship HMAS Tobrok was lost in 1960 during a gunnery exercise, where a malfunction with HMAS Anzac gun’s resulted in her firing on HMAS Tobruk.
The Australian Battle’s were unique as they were armed with the QF4.5 Mk5 Gun which in the Mk6 turret had a greater rate of fire over the older Mk3 guns seen on other Battle Class Destroyers.
