Pacific Meltdown – Operation Safehaven (Mission 6)
August 29, 1986: After over a month of brutal combat, Attu Island has finally fallen into Soviet hands. Exhausted and running out of food, medical supplies, and ammunition, the 500 or so remaining defenders had no choice but to surrender themselves 3 days ago. It has been discovered that these soldiers are being taken back to the USSR aboard an LST, where they will likely endure horrible torture and brutal conditions in Siberian labor camps. This is where you come in. A highly dangerous mission has been planned to overtake the LST deep in enemy controlled waters and rescue the POWs. You will have to make the absolute most of your limited resources to avoid failure and execute one of the most daring rescue missions in not only US, but world history.
