In Memory of a Dear Friend
This is..tough. Recently, my pet leopard gecko passed away. His name was Trajann (Yes, like my username) and he was my best friend. Those of you who have lost pets can understand how devastating it can be. Trajann really was one of the best things to ever happen to me. Before I got him, I was at a very low point mentally. But taking care of him brought me back to life, and he helped me through some very dark days. I loved him with everything I had, and his passing has hurt my heart in ways I never thought possible. I lost a piece of me, and it’s something I’ll never fully heal from. With his passing, I knew that I wanted to honour him in some way, and I felt that bringing him into this hobby that I love so much was the only thing to do.
This mod adds Trajann to the game, specifically to the major Lizardmen factions. I’ll be up front, I just did whatever I wanted to when making him. I made his skills and abilities be things that I felt honoured and represented him, rather than having any sort of game balance. His skills are silly and fun, because that was his personality. This isn’t some overpowered character, nor does it fit any sort of missing role in the roster. This is Trajann, my best friend. Everything about this mod is a tribute to him and his life, and serves as my way of saying goodbye.
Like my other characters, Trajann comes with custom skills and abilities. He has a skill dump that reduces corruption, and an ultimate skill unlocked at level 50. He buffs all types of salamanders and razordons, and is meant to stick with your lord and fight with them. He is added to the skink oracle pool at the start of a campaign, and is unlocked when they are. Trajann also comes with a unique RoR dread saurian. It has dazed attacks, a higher missile resistance, and a custom ability. It’s unlocked at level 27 and naturally benefits from dread saurian tech.
I wanted to give the feeling of Trajann being a real pet that you’re taking care of, and so many aspects of his skills/abilities represent that. Please, look after my friend. Treat him well, and give him all the love he deserves. With his passing, I will be stepping away from modding for a time. I wanted to do this first, but now that’s it’s done I’ll be taking some time to grieve. I won’t be around to update my mods when the game gets updated, and likely won’t be responding to any comments. Please, be patient, and understand that I’ll come back when I’m ready.
