The construction of the H30 would encounter several major setbacks, starting with several delays with the manufacturing of one of her main turrets, a major fire that destroyed the ship’s superstructure while in drydock, and the arrest of its chief designer █████ █████ for embezzlement of funds. Due to these issues, construction would be put on hold for almost a year while the Admiralty reevaluated the need for another heavy cruiser, finally canceling its procurement. The ship was scheduled to be scrapped until a sudden need for more ASW surface ships saw the Admiralty instead order the ship to be completed as a guided missile cruiser, prompting Raporium to redesign much of its superstructure and adding a large missile launcher for ASROC missiles in place of where its superfiring frontal turret would have been. Despite its rocky construction the completed ship, now designated as the Avsati, would prove highly formidable in its role as an ASW ship, using its powerful ASROC to force submarines to surface where she can safely pound them to dust with her heavy guns.
