Siege & Besiege Battle Overhaul
DESCRIPTION
This mod returns siege gameplay back to the days of Shogun 2 Total War and Medieval 2 Total War, where the AI forces frequently lay siege to your castles and cities without hesitation, and the player is forced to play siege defence. Unfortunately in Attila Total War, AI rarely lays siege and actually engages in siege battles as the attacker .
Ask yourself this: How often do you play city or main settlement defence battles? Not often?
Well, this mod aims to change that.
CHANGES
– AI is MUCH MORE LIKELY to lay siege to your cities and fortified and unfortified towns. Watch those border towns and cities!
-AI is more likely to ENGAGE your defenders in battle on the city map instead of starving them out
– Boiling oil returns to city gates to welcome the attackers. Oil inflicts a heavy morale penalty of "-35" to deter further foolish attempts
– Guardtowers (wooden and brick) arrow damages nerfed (by about 50%) but accuracy increased slightly
– Siege escalation (melee and morale penalty to defenders in a long siege over 4+ turns) SIGNIFICANTLY reduced from max -18 to -8.
– AI is more likely to rush your settlements with siege ladders and onagers
Give it a try, I find that in my vanilla campaign and modded campaigns, the AI is much more aggressive in sieges. I had some AI armies lay siege to my cities where I had half a stack of armies recuperating within.
