As Hello Neighbor 2 draws ever closer, I returned to Hello Neighbor modding to create my grandest one yet. This project was as good as abandoned on two separate occasions, but it has persevered just in time for Halloween!
Play against the neighbor in a fully-explorable two-story, three-roofed house abundant with puzzles and paranormal happenings with a barn and greenhouse as a bonus! There is also a fully explorable map, retextures, and new sounds aplenty.
The date is November 12th, 1988. It’s an unsuspecting night in rural Sylva, North Carolina, on the otherwise peaceful Vernon Street. However, the tranquility of the neighborhood has recently been under threat as Garvey Warner, inheritor of the largest property on the Street, the Warner Family Home, is making his presence louder each night. After living with his uncle for 6 years in relative peace, his uncle moved to nearby Cherokee, granting all property rights to the now sole resident Garvey. Since he was left to indulge in whatever he pleases, he has been spotted carrying large, mysterious bags and boxes into his home, making the once pristine Garvey Family Home more of a hoarder house. To complement this odd behavior, construction sounds would disturb the neighborhood long into the night, and Garvey was even accused of disrupting the water system. After hours of restless discomfort, several complaints are tossed about, but Warner is cleared of all suspicion by the local police. This inspires Maddox Cleveland, your player character, to take matters into his own hands and uncover Mr. Warner’s motives for violating the neighborhood’s unspoken rule: never, ever disturb the peace.
– Two-story, three-roofed neighbor house and two-story player house
– Nerfs and buffs: the neighbor cannot place beartraps, cameras, or buckets, runs much slower, and the player cannot take fall damage.
– Barn, greenhouse, and well
– Several custom sounds and chase music, events, and retextures
– Secret Neighbor/Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek models (ripped by KonradKH and ArtemSosyrev2003)
– Fully explorable map with custom buildings and callbacks to my old mods
– LIGHTNING!
– Ending cutscene
– The neighbor gets stuck in place the first time you hide in cabinets or under beds and tables. After getting caught a first time afterward, he will begin to react properly. I’m as confused as you.
– The neighbor additionally gets stuck in doorways sometimes.
– Sound triggers happen once again each time you restart the game and activate them, but this is merely a slight annoyance and will not softlock you.
