Fourth Rome – A Shadow War
1964 – Our World is not what it used to be. Nations across the world are caught between a three way cold war as many collapse into anarchy, only to emerge as pawns in the great chess game. A World were a totalitarian shadow state took over what used to be "The Land of the Free." A world where Democracy is dying. A World where the state sees it all. The Shadow War continues.

Lore:
America
America in the 20th century has a very interesting history. After World War One, America had a booming economy, powerful military, and was a beacon of freedom across the world. But when the stock market crashed in 1929, it destroyed everything. Herbert Hoover, a two term president, attempted to fix the economic situation by cutting taxes, spending, and attempted to lower inflation and make many nations pay off their debt, but the economy was so bad that it had barely recovered at all, and the common American was still unemployed, homeless, and starved. Huey Long, at this time the Governor of Louisiana proposed a new idea to fix the situation; Share our wealth programs. He established many volunteer programs to help poor Americans afford cars, homes, and also established soup kitchens to feed the needy. He also was a massive critic of the Hoover Administration, and was seen as a strong candidate against him. Huey Long also made many promises like decreasing the power of the FBI and strengthen the local police forces as he feared that the FBI would become so powerful that they could take over foreign countries. His fears heightened as an assassination attempt on his life happened in 1935. In the 1936 elections, Long won by a landslide. Now that the FBI saw that Long, now an enemy of the organization, was going to decrease their power and strength, they were on the move. Many officials of the FBI secretly allied with the Military as Huey advocated for an isolationist foreign policy, and wanted to decrease the size of the Military. Both organizations collaborated on a new operation, dubbed "Fourth Rome," as they had planned to march on the capital and seize control. In 1938, a year into Huey’s Presidency, Huey was assassinated as Generals Like Patton and MacArthur marched into the capital with many other generals seizing control of nearby cities. the following five chaotic months were that of mass rioting and rebellions being quelled by the newly established state. The two years following, the new regime allied with Nazi Germany to divide up the western half of the world as Hitler and his forces marched into France and the Lowlands, and America marched into British Canada and in 1942, Invaded the British Isles. The fall of Britain was followed by the collapse of allied Africa. When Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor, it officially entered America into the war. In the European Front, America was able to take over Western Europe, establishing multiple puppet regimes across the land as the Russians took over the east. Living in the Western world at this time was a nightmare, as a shadow rested over the western world.
Russia
Now seen as the last bastion of Democracy, Russia is the defender of the free world. From the Bering to the Baltic, Freedom still prevails. During World War one, the Provisional Government of Russia signed the treaty of Brest-Litovsk, ceding much territory to the central powers. This caused a massive civil war between the Provisional Government, and Lenin’s new Red Army. After countless battles, and a failed attempt to kill the original Tsar of Russia (Provisional Government forces stormed the area just as the Red Guards were going to kill the Romanov Family), Victory for Democracy Prevailed. On January 11th, 1924, The Russian Constitution was ratified establishing the country as a Federation, with many laws similar to that of the United States. During the beginning of World War II, Russia created the Collective Security Treaty Organization to help nations with similar ideals face off against Tyrannical threats like Nazi Germany. Many Former territories of the Russian Empire joined the Alliance, like Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics, and the Caucasus. When Germany Invaded in 1941, it was brutal for all who endured the war. But when 1943 rolled around, Russia began to push Germany back to their home country. When September of 1945 rolled around, The Americans and the Russians both declared Germany to be defeated. For the last 3 months of 1945, the Russians tried to gain as much territory in East Asia as a cold war began to brew, and ended the World War by dropping the 4 nuclear bombs on Japan. Sadly, Russia was never able to help rebuild the broken nation as the Americans swiftly occupied the Island. And in China, a rising Red Star emerged more angered than ever that a foreign country was occupying territories inhabited by their people. This new war would set the stage for an uphill battle for Democracy as we know it.
China
All was going to plan for the CCP at this time. They had just obliterated what was left of the Republic and their warlord allies. However, one thing was in their way. Russia for a while had occupied regions like Mongolia and Xinjiang, territories thought to be rightfully apart of China and China only. It was made even worse when the Russians secured Manchuria and Korea after the war, and was seen as a sore thumb to the Communist Regime. Millions of Chinese would try to flee to neighboring Manchuria as it was the only safe place they could run away from the CCP. China during the beginning stages of the cold war rapidly militarized their country in preparation for aggressive expansion of their influence, as they were seen as the global mantle of all Communism. China began to expand their influence in Africa to counteract the Americans and Russians. It is only a matter of time until they fully secure the African Front.
