INTRODUCTION:
Overhauls the classes by disabling the vanilla game’s classes (excluding Psi Operatives) and adding 8 new classes with mixed assortments of the vanilla abilities. Also changes the layout of the perk trees. Starting at the Squaddie rank, classes have mandatory perks they take at every other level. As for the other 3 ranks, you can choose from 3 perks, depending on how you’d like to further customize your characters. This gives classes more focused roles while still allowing for some flexibility. These classes also have custom icons (The Psi Operative class also has a custom icon so it matches the new ones, but there are otherwise no changes to the class itself). Should be compatible with any other class mod.

CHANGES FROM LEGACY VERSION:
-LW Secondary Weapons pack is now required.
-Slightly tweaked trees. A few abilities have been switched around.
-Balance Changes; Legacy version was pretty broken. In the WOTC version, classes are balanced fairly and are no longer superior to vanilla classes in every way. Juggernaut is especially less OP than in Legacy.
-Consistent Stat progression. Stat bonuses in the legacy version were fairly unpredictable. You now get Stat Bonuses at every other level, starting at Squaddie.
-Assassin has been renamed to ‘Recon’ and uses the Holotargeter from the LW2 Secondary Weapons pack. Stealth abilities have been moved from the ‘mandatory’ skills to secondary skills for the Recon.
-Hitman has been renamed to ‘Sniper’ and uses the Sawed Off Shotgun from the LW2 Secondary Weapons pack
-Sapper has been renamed to ‘Demolitionist’
-Juggernaut now uses the Arcthrower from the LW2 Secondary Weapons pack and has the Shieldbearer’s ‘Energy Shield’ ability has been put in the ability tree.
-Changed medic stats and starting abilities. Removed Mark Target and Energy Shield. While it looked good on paper and felt fun to use mid-game, people pointed out that the medic made the beginning of the game stupid easy, but the medic became very lackluster late-game.
-Very basic Localization changes for the classes and the Shieldbearer ability.

RAIDER
A front-line CQB combatant, the Raider can equip Shotguns but specializes in melee damage. They can also choose from skills to enhance their survivability, movement, and Shotgun proficiency. Raiders gain small Aim bonuses and moderate Health bonuses as they level up.

RECON
Our Recon units mark targets for the rest of the squad. They wield Sniper Rifles, and while they don’t have Squadsight like Hitmen do, they can choose from skills to improve their stealth, movement, or rifles. Recon units gain moderate Aim and Hacking bonuses as they level up.

SNIPER
Snipers are capable of taking out enemies from a distance, but if worse comes to worst, they can defend themselves with a sawed-off shotgun. Choose from abilities that further enhance aim, stealth, or your shotgun. Snipers gain large Aim bonuses as they level up.

GUNMAN
Gunmen are versatile infantry units that are adept with Assault Rifles and pistols. Witch practice, they can improve their covering fire, rifle proficiency, or versatility on the field. Gunmen gain moderate Aim bonuses and small Health bonuses as they level up.

JUGGERNAUT
The sturdiest of all units, Juggernauts are defensive soldiers that mow down enemies with their cannon, or disrupt them using the ArcThrower. They can choose from skills to further enhance their Arcthrower, cannons, or overwatch fire. Juggernauts gain large health bonuses as they level up.

DEMOLITIONIST
Demolitionists use Shotguns and Grenade Launchers to damage enemies and destroy cover. Their secondary skills improve weapon damage, support abilities, and survivability. Demolitionists gain moderate bonuses to health as they level up, and start with the bonus ability: Biggest Boom.

ENGINEER
Engineers are robotics experts equipped with Cannons and Gremlins. Choose from secondary abilities that increase effectiveness of the Gremlin, overwatch fire, or explosives. Engineers gain large Hacking bonuses as they level up.

MEDIC
The Medic, as the name implies, keeps our troops healthy on the battlefield. They use Gremlins and Assault Rifles, and can learn skills to enhance their support abilities, overwatch fire, or Gremlin abilities. Medics gain small hacking bonuses and increases to their will as they level up.

RECOMMENDED MODS (in no particular order)

Alternative Mod Launcher
A much better launcher for XCOM that lets you see more than 5 mods on the list at a time, lets you organize the mods, and even lets you edit the mods’ config files without sorting through Steam’s god awful Workshop folder.
https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/64mucq/alternative_mod_launcher_now_a_community_project/

Blademaster Momentum
-Gives the Blademaster skill a buff so that it allows the soldier to take one extra movement after making an attack.

Dynamic Pod Activation
-Allows you to customize when pods get activated. I like make making every pod become active at once for more challenge and to make the tactical game feel less slow after breaking concealment, but you can also tweak pod activation in other ways if you want.

A Better Advent: War of the Chosen
-Adds a bunch of enemy archetypes to spice up gameplay. Also archon tiddies.

Affordable SPARKs
-Because 2 elerium cores for a walking "SHOOT ME" sign seemed a little much.

Grimy’s Loot Mod WOTC
-Loot!

X2WOTCCommunityHighlander
-Fixes bugs and makes mods play nicely with each other. My simple class config mod doesn’t make use of the Highlander, but others might, so it might be a good idea to grab it just in case.

ALTERNATE CLASS MODS
This mod not your thing? Check out these other class overhauls that might be more your style.

Classless Overhaul – MINT
Pretty much the polar opposite of my class mod in every way; the idea of ‘classes’ is removed (except for Faction Heroes), each soldier has a randomized ability tree, any soldier can use any weapon, and there was actual effort put into it.

A Better Barracks
Classes have 1 set row of skills, and 1 row of pseudo-random skills, some of which are custom made. Each class can equip two weapons. A good choice if you think my mod is too restrictive and Classless Overhaul – MINT is too random.
