W. Kaliningrad Oblast
Ah, Kaliningrad, an area with so much history, it will never be quite settled.
Settled in a time before our measurement by the Baltic tribe of Samia, colonized by
the iron fist of the Teutonic knights, then part of the secularized Prussian Duchy,
from there part of the Reich, and the next Reich, and then moved as the most Western
territory of the glorious Soviet Union.
This map covers only the Western half of the Oblast, around the capital of Kaliningrad
(ex. Königsberg). Youre governor of this historical piece of land, close to how it had
to look like in – say, 1950. Remains of the old German rail lines are still there, while
the settlers – often from the far east – reform the area for its socialist future.
