Description:

A Divided History – The Struggle for Stettin (Szczecin)
After the end of World War II in 1945, the city of Stettin (Szczecin) became a focal point of tension between Poland and Germany. The shifting borders and political disputes made the city’s future uncertain. Initially controlled by the Soviet Red Army, the city was claimed by both Germany and Poland, with neither side willing to concede. While the Potsdam Conference established a new border along the Oder-Neisse line, the status of Stettin remained controversial for years. The city changed hands multiple times before finally being incorporated into Poland. However, alternative history tells a different story…

An Alternate Timeline: The Free City of Stettin (1958-1960)
In 1958, after years of diplomatic negotiations and growing Cold War tensions, a unique agreement was reached between the Eastern Bloc and NATO powers. Instead of fully belonging to either side, Stettin was declared a "Free City" under Soviet influence, similar to East Berlin, but without being officially part of the Polish People’s Republic. Meanwhile, the northern territories beyond the city, including the areas near Świnoujście, became a NATO-controlled buffer zone under Western influence.

The year is now 1960, and you take control of this fragile state, caught between two ideological superpowers. Your mission is to transform this divided, war-torn city into a thriving independent republic. But be warned—the challenges ahead will test your leadership skills to the limit!

Gameplay Features:
✅ Designed for Realistic Mode (Cosmonaut Difficulty) – Economy, trade, and city management require careful planning.
✅ Two Starting Approaches:

Western Development (Hard Mode) – Although still within the communist sphere of influence, this region presents greater logistical challenges and requires careful planning.
Eastern Development (Easier Start) – Better initial infrastructure and more opportunities for economic growth make this the recommended path for new players.
✅ Cold War Tensions – Maintain a balance between Soviet and Western interests to avoid political collapse.
✅ Restricted Expansion Rule – You are only allowed to expand and improve existing cities – establishing new settlements is forbidden.
✅ Minimal Starting Funds – You start with only 1.4 million rubles, forcing you to make strategic economic decisions.
Will you create a prosperous independent state, or will Stettin collapse under Cold War pressure? The choice is yours!

📌 my challenge:
