Ammo as weapon mods
WARNING: If you are activating this mod mid campaign, modifies the ini file to add new ammo mid campaign, or coming from an older version, you will need Reward Decks Refresher
Makes ammo a weapon upgrade instead of a utility item.
NOTE: Pistols will by default use the ammo upgrade from your primary weapon (unless you use a mod that lets pistol have weapon upgrades, use a utility item ammo [from old save], or setting SECONDARY_USE_PRIMARY_AMMO in XComAmmo.ini to false)
Note 2: This mod creates new items entirely and does not touch your existing ammo (in fact, the weapon mods will reference to the existing ammo to use their effects), if you already have experimental ammo this mod will not remove them and they’ll work the same way as it is, only newly acquired ammo becomes weapon mods (Should I change that?). Also before you think about it, stacking ammo won’t work, utility item ammos will get priority.
Note 3: Super recommended to be used with Advanced modular weapons ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=626023136 ) (Not my mod)
Long War 2 users: Save this[pastebin.com] as XComLW_Overhaul.ini in the config folder of this mod to fix free ammo issue
I made this mod because I seen a few people talking about this, after a few days I didn’t see anyone release the mod so I make one myself 😛
Known issues: The ammo upgrade will appear twice when you mouseover your weapon, I don’t have a clean way to get rid of the repeated one as it involves overriding a lot more stuffs.
You may disable this mod any time but all weapon mod ammos will be lost.
Problems? Follow this guide first! it may solve your problems (applies to all mods) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=625230005
Compatibility Note:
WORKS WITH WOTC
This mod overwrites template ‘HotLoadAmmo’ and may not be compatible with other mods that overwrites the same template.
This mod is compatible with custom ammo, however you need to add each custom ammo template name into XComAmmo.ini under AmmoNames
This mod is also compatible with custom weapons, but if the ammo icons don’t show properly for custom weapons, you can add their weapon template name into XComAmmo.ini WeaponFallbacks
