Character Introduction:
Koishi Komeiji is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing as the EX Stage Boss in Touhou Subterranean Animism.
As a Satori (a mind-reading youkai), she lost her ability to read minds after sealing her own heart, but gained the power to manipulate the unconscious instead [Subterranean Animism Setting Documents].
Koishi’s design is deeply rooted in psychological concepts such as the subconscious, the id/superego, and dreams. Many of her spell card names reference famous psychologists and theories, making her uniquely tied to psychology among Touhou characters.
She embodies paradoxes: a character "without character," rejecting traditional identity [Character Guide]. Though she avoids malice to evade hatred, she harbors darkness within [Character Guide]. Her personality shifts between hollow detachment, eerie dialogue, and sudden cuteness [Symposium of Post-mysticism].
Post-Subterranean Animism, she appears as a playable character in Hopeless Masquerade, Urban Legend in Limbo, and Antinomy of Common Flowers, with occasional official media appearances.
