Canal Crisis – Battle of Israel
It’s June 6th 1985 tensions in the Middle East have erupted into full-scale war following June 3rd, 1985 incident in which Israeli forces attacked and sank a Soviet cargo vessel near the Suez Canal. The Soviet Union has condemned the attack as an act of war and vowed retaliation, backing Egypt and Syria in a joint military offensive. Their objective: secure control of the Suez Canal and cripple Israeli military capabilities in the region. With Soviet logistical and material support, Egyptian and Syrian forces have launched a surprise assault on key Israeli airbases and industrial sites. However, Israel is well-defended and possesses a formidable air force and naval presence. While the Soviets have not yet committed their full military strength, their involvement is inevitable should their regional allies suffer heavy losses.
