LW2: ADVENT Back in Black
This is a small Long War 2 mod that switches the color of all the new ADVENT units (but not the new alien types) to the classic black/while/red colors used by vanilla XCOM 2.
It includes support for the Alien Pack previously released by Pavonis Interactive, and for DBK’s A Better Advent: LW’s Guest Enemies.
I did this because I visually prefer the oppressive totalitarian police state aesthetic instead of looking at a rainbow of colors, which I recognize is useful to recognize the new units but it is not absolutely necessary, IMHO, since in many cases the bright colors really stand out against the background. And, depending on the environmental lightning, the different colors can be confused with one another, making identification harder.
The list of changes is:
* Gunners, Rocketeers, Engineer/Grenadiers and Sentry/Guardian/Sentinel are now black like Troopers. Sentry has the Lancer helmet to distinguish it from the vanilla Trooper.
* Both Sergeants are red, but don’t wear any capes unlike the Officer and have a ‘tougher’ look
* MEC Archer/Longbow are now white/red like regular MECs
* Superheavy MEC has no changes
* Scout is black
* Commando is black and has a cape to distinguish it from Scout
* Shock Troop is black and has a cape like Commando, but uses the Shieldbearer’s helmet instead of the Trooper’s
* Vanguard is white and uses the Trooper helmet and a cape
Sometimes you may still see their original colors when their appear as reinforcements or are activated but I have no idea how to fix this.
