JNR KoKi 50000 container wagon
The Japanese National Railways’ KoKi 50000 is container wagon that was introduced in 1971. It can carry 5 x 12-feet or 3 x 20-feet containers and has a maximum speed of 95 km/h. More than 3,000 cars (including the KoKiFu 50000 with a guards cabin) were produced, and were used mainly on high-speed container trains throughout Japan.
The Kokifu 50000 class has a conductor’s crew room and can carry 4 12ft or 2 20ft containers. since the 1980s, conductors no longer served on JNR freight trains, and many of them had their crew rooms removed.
In 1985, when the the "Super Liner" container express on the Tokaido Main Line began service, 370 of the KoKi 50000s were converted to a maximum speed of 100km/h. In 1988, when the train was diverted to the Tohoku Main Line, it turned green. In the same year, the "Super Liner" was converted to 110km/h maximum speed, and 45 of the KoKi 50000s were converted to 110km/h maximum speed and painted orange until the KoKi 100 Series was ready.
Containers are included in this mod, and there are no required mods. 20ft containers from the JNR era and other containers will be added in future updates. Containers that can be placed as assets are available as the asset mod.
Update on April 21, 2022: High-speed conversion cars have been added. No. 250000s with a top speed of 100 km/h, and No. 350000s with a top speed of 110 km/h. Both appear from 1988.
