Super ultimate multi universal factory
Adds a new 5×5 parallel-processing factory that can create any vanilla component including ammo.
This item requires full research of all other factory components before it can be researched.
It creates all non-ammo components at the same time depending on what resources it has loaded which means it will split up certain resources such as copper to make coils, processors, hypercoils, and so forth and will spread out the creation of items. It will not process a single type of item until blocked then go to another one.
The user can click the factory to conserve coils, so they are not used to make processors or hypercoils. This is handy when you have taken damage and need the coils to repair.
A single type of ammo can also be generated by selecting the ammo type when clicking the factory. This will create a single slot for that ammo type. If a different ammo type is selected, any existing ammo type will disappear.
Note that other components will still be created concurrently such as steel plates + HE missile parts for example.
The obvious advantage is that a much smaller footprint can be used for non-dedicated cargo ships to break down materials and save cargo space.
However, each single item created takes about twice as long as normal with the notation that multiple items are created at once.
Also, each item created takes about four times more energy than normal so it is highly important to place this relatively close to a power source.
Finally, note that only a single grid slot is given for each input and output material. Carbon is the exception as it needs 20 to make a single diamond so I have a second internal slot (like the actual factory) to store them up. I do keep a normal typedGrid however so it appears to have two storage areas.
Graphics are a bit rudimentary but not too bad. I will try to clean them up and if anyone else wants to help that would be awesome since I’m not great with them.
Please provide feedback about issues, suggestions, bugs, etc and I will do the best that I can. I am definitely NOT Malte or SirCampelot so have reasonable expectations. 🙂
