Not so backward Spain
Spain was bad at this time, but not as Victoria 3 represents it.

– Prohibition of slavery (there was none in the peninsula, but it is maintained in Puerto Rico)
– Landowners go from Pro-slavery to Anti-slavery
– Spain acquires a large part of the technologies of the great powers (although not all, such as railways)
– The Philippines wins demands to unify the island
– Spain claims Gibraltar and Micronesia
– Ceuta added as Spanish territory
– Option to unify Iberia in the style of Scandinavia (in this case we complicate it by needing all of Iberia, including Gibraltar)
– New flags for Iberia (they become the equivalent of Spain but with the green vertical band of Portugal)
