BetterMonsterball
Makes the monsterball’s success chance scale with the target’s remaining HP instead of only always working at below 10% HP, it’ll also have a chance to break or aggro the target for balance. You can also try to capture any target with any monsterball but the level of each will influence the success rate.
Default game behavior is left intact, so at below 10% HP you always capture the target if they are lower level than the monsterball.
Settings:
- Base Capture Chance – Added base chance (default is 10%, meaning that at 100% HP it’s 10% to capture and chance goes up based on the scaling setting).
- Capture Chance Scaling – Capture chance increase per % of HP missing, if set to 1 then 1% HP missing = +1% chance to capture, if 2 then 2% HP missing = +2% chance to capture, etc.
- Positive Monsterball Level Modifier – If the monsterball is higher level than the target, how much 1 level of difference will influence capture chance (default is 1, 1 level difference = +1% to capture).
- Negative Monsterball Level Modifier – If the monsterball is lower level than the target, how much 1 level of difference will influence capture chance (default is 5, 1 level differnece = -5% to capture).
- Destroy/Aggro Enabled – Destroy the monsterball/Aggro the target in case of failure.
- Destroy/Aggro Chance Scaling – Destroy/Aggro chance scale, if set to 100 then chance caps at 100% and lowers 1% with each 1% HP missing, if 50 then caps at 50% and lowers 0.5% with each 1% HP missing, etc.
- Luck Modifier – How much 1 Luck influences the capture chance, destroy and aggro chance, this is additive like the base chance (default is 0.25, 4 Luck = +1% to capture, -1% to destroy, aggro).
- Taming Modifier – How much 1 level of Taming influences the capture chance, this is additive like the base chance (default is 0.25, 4 Taming = +1% to capture).
- Throwing Modifier – How much 1 level of Throwing influences the destroy and aggro chance, this is additive like the base chance (default is 0.1, 10 Throwing = -1% to destroy, aggro).
- Capture Restrictions – Removes capture restrictions – removes zone restriction and can capture untamable targets. Note that this setting does not affect default game behavior, so at below 10% HP it’s not an automatic capture in these situations. Use this caution, while this lets you capture things like bosses, etc, it also lets you capture unique NPCs which might softlock you.
Examples with default settings:
0 Luck, 0 Taming, 0 Throw
10 Luck, 10 Taming, 10 Throw
10 Luck, 10 Taming, 10 Throw
About the percentage:
During the calculations there’s no check for below 0%/above 100%, meaning that, for example, if you’re using a low level monsterball on a high level target, as long as your modifiers or its missing HP percentage make up for it, you can still capture them regardless of the penalty due to the level difference.
Settings can be adjusted in the config file that appears on ElinBepInExconfig after the first launch of the game with the mod enabled or by using https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3379819704 (allows changing the settings without restarting the game).
