Mod Description

Features 4 variants of the B-52 bomber with different loadouts, 3 with nuclear with different explosive yields and 1 conventional carrying MK 82 bombs. i aimed to make the loadouts realistic to what they would’ve/ can carry in real life. the loadouts included are as follows;

8 B61 gravity nuke
8 B83 gravity nuke
20 NX-02 ALCM nuclear cruise missile
84 MK82 gravity bomb
If you want to change their loadout, the scripts are in their init box’s.

Questions & Answers

Q: What’s the point of this?
A: For the nukes, ideally this is meant to be seen at a distance or as a "end game" to a scenario. For the conventional bombs, this is perfect for Vietnam and Middle East ops. if you’ve ever wanted to jump out of a huey, ready your m16, and look up to see the sky clouded by b-52’s from linebacker, this is for you.

Q: How do i find it in game?
A: It’s not a mod so it wont show in your launcher. in the editor you need to press the groups key or F2 then click on the composition icon. last pic in the slideshow above shows were it can be located.

Q: Why is it spawning all broken up?
A: You need to click off Terrain Level before spawning any comp. last pic in the slideshow above shows were it can be located. (Not really needed with this comp)

Q: How can I do this for myself?
A: Its easy to do once you know how, all the scripts you need are located in the vehicles init box. to give the vehicle any weapon you want, just replace the name of the weapons and its ammo’s. a list of vanilla assets can be found here; https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_CfgWeapons_Vehicle_Weapons

Q: Can we get a separate version without the nuke?
A: No need, just start your game without the nuke mod and you’ll still be able to spawn the version using MK82 bombs

Q: Why can’t i get this to work?
A: Make sure your spawning them from the composition tab (see last pic) and that the pilot has control over the bombs by default, if you want to change who has control over the weapons double click the plane and in the script change the -1’s. (-1 = driver, 0 = gunner, 1 = commander, ext)

Known Bugs & Issues

– the b-52 is a port from arma 2 and therefor has a looong list of issues with it that im not going to bother mentioning here, you can find the info on their page in you need
– bombs pop out the nose of the plane no matter who controls the bombs, not sure why this is so ive left control of the bombs to the pilot
