Holdridge’s Back Acres
In 1994 MAJ I.L. Holdridge, USMC(Ret) released what I consider to be the first really good computer based tactical wargame suitable for modern combined arms doctrine. I have tried to recreate the first large map of the series here, for Armored Brigade; this is truly a labor of love– I enjoyed this map so much and the wonderful game created by MAJ H. To preserve the tactical intent of the map and preferred threat and friendly CoAs, I took a few liberties. I also added a small town to use as an objective, since the original game had the threat trying to exit the western edge of the map. Hope everyone enjoys this, and I know any fans of TacOps will find it quite nostalgic.
