Description:

Reworks the game’s soundscapes, aka. ambient level sounds.

The DSP (reverb) mode for most soundscapes is now set to automatic like in Half-Life 2, instead of the preset modes that were being used previously. This makes reverb and echo effects more accurate and audible across the board.
Some soundscapes now have additional random noises that play where appropriate – for example, gunfire mixed in with alien noises in the tunnels of later Earth chapters, and Vort/Controller voices and alarms in the Nihilanth’s tower. Also, some areas now benefit from extra looping ambiences, like the flooded tunnels in On A Rail, which previously had no water-related ambience, and the Nihilath’s tower, which now has a faint heartbeat.

NOTE:
-Subscribe to this mod before any custom campaigns or map mods that replace vanilla soundscape files, like BMS Classic Power Up.
-This mod has been optimized exclusively with the base game’s maps in mind. Map rework mods like Chapter Overhaul and BMS Classic may still work with this mod, but I can’t guarantee compatibility or a proper listening experience with custom campaigns.
