Iwo Jima Map
SIZE: The map is very small at slightly bigger than 9600×9600, and the biggest size you should set a battle to is aforementioned number.
DESCRIPTION: The map is well-suited for close combat, with Mt. Surobachi making for an excellent observation post. Obviously, no undeground tunnel network could be added due to engine limitations.
BACKGROUND: Iwo Jima was the scene of one of the most fiercely fought battles in human history, the battle of Iwo Jima, which pitted the forces of the United States, led by people such as marine general Holland M. Smith against Imperial Japanese forces under overall command of Tadamichi Kuribayashi who was to become famous for his defensive tactics during the battle for the volcanic island.
NOTES: Download K-tacos excellent WW2 mod for appropriate forces. The map aims to depict Iwo Jima (1945) to the best of my ability. Some things need a bit more tweaking, and more locations could be added.
