279工程
279工程是由位于列宁格勒的基洛夫工厂设计师托洛亚诺夫在1957年所研发的原型坦克。
在1953年苏军进行了多项核子爆炸试验，同时在爆炸范围内放置了很多经过改装的坦克进行测试与评估。
1954年9月在多茨科耶地区进行了一次有步兵参加的特种核爆试验，苏联军方发现在核爆一定的范围内，坦克全部被冲击波掀翻，这显然不合当时苏联领导人大打核战争的想法。
托洛亚诺夫将对抗核子武器攻击与爆炸后的风暴威力作为考量的前提，在设计上加强了279坦克的防护能力。
基于这一点车身重量也就开始倍增，而车身重量倍增的结果就是如果接地的履带宽度不足的话，279坦克无法在钢筋混凝土以外地面移动。
279坦克降低接地压强的方法是装备了4条履带，其并非是第一款使用四条履带的坦克，英国在1916年所研制过的“飞象”超重型坦克也是用4条履带。
美国军方的T-95超重型坦克也是使用四条履带，而德军的鼠式坦克虽然只有两条履带，但是宽度要更宽。
279坦克于1957年造出了原型车。在试验场顺利通过了技术审查，但是由于结构复杂造价昂贵，没有投产。目前保存在库宾卡博物馆。

Project 279
Project 279 is a prototype tank developed by Toloyanov, a designer at the Kirov Factory in Leningrad, in 1957.
In 1953, the Soviet army conducted a number of nuclear explosion tests, and placed many modified tanks within the explosion range for testing and evaluation.
In September 1954, a special nuclear explosion test with the participation of infantry was conducted in the Dotskoye area. The Soviet military found that within a certain range of the nuclear explosion,
all tanks were overturned by the shock wave, which was obviously inconsistent with the idea of the Soviet leaders at the time to fight a nuclear war.
Toloyanov took the resistance to nuclear weapons attacks and the power of the storm after the explosion as the premise of consideration, and strengthened the protection capability of the 279 tank in the design.
Based on this, the weight of the body began to double, and the result of the doubling of the weight of the body was that if the width of the track on the ground was insufficient, the 279 tank could not move on the ground other than reinforced concrete.
The way the 279 tank reduces ground pressure is to equip it with four tracks. It is not the first tank to use four tracks. The "Flying Elephant" super-heavy tank developed by the United Kingdom in 1916 also uses four tracks.
The U.S. military’s T-95 super-heavy tank also uses four tracks, while the German Maus tank has only two tracks, but the width is wider.
The 279 tank built a prototype in 1957. It successfully passed the technical review at the test site, but due to its complex structure and high cost, it was not put into production. It is currently preserved in the Kubinka Museum.
