Operation Lavatube – Battle of the Norwegian Sea
It’s November 3, 1984. The Soviet Union’s push into the North Atlantic reaches a pivotal moment. With the invasion of Jan Mayen already underway, our forces aim to capitalize on this momentum by capturing Iceland, securing control over the North Sea, and establishing a blockade around Norway. Command has assembled a formidable naval task force, including an Orel-class carrier, to spearhead this operation. Intelligence reports indicate a significant enemy presence, notably a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier group determined to halt our advance. Both sides possess substantial naval firepower, setting the stage for a monumental confrontation. Securing these strategic positions is crucial. Dominance over these regions will disrupt NATO’s Atlantic operations and grant us a decisive upper hand in the conflict.
This operation is very complex (~70 ships) be warned – suggestions are welcome
