Description:

This is my entry for the Map Maker Contest 2023 with a medieval theme! I can tell you it’s been a lot of very hard work so hope you all like it.

Many thanks for your really cool votes! Wow… 1st!

Basic Plot

It is the year 1307 and the Templars have been a respected group of knights for nearly 100 years. Their days are numbered though, as discontent against them has spread. Rumours of a bad group held up in a castle, with mythical secrets and their grand-master practising banned witchcraft have the local peasants ready for a revolt. You have been imprisoned by the Templars, for not paying unfair taxes and you are rightly angry. Escape, join the peasants and the revolt. Breach the castle and set the world to rights!

Map Heads Up

I’m quite well known for detail and this map is no exception. I have, however spent some considerable time optimising this map, more than any other I’ve worked on. It’s been split into several zones to break apart render draw distance, so I do suggest those previously struggling with my maps to give it a go. This map currently also does not play multiplayer.

Music Heads Up

There is a mixture of music I have produced, and 3 tracks credited to Infraction on youtube. All, including mine of course are copyrite free and should be safe to use for any youtube creators.

Final Notes

If any of you are struggling, I’ll include some hints here soon. Overall the map is not too hard to beat, and an enjoyable ride. Please play all the contest entries before casting your vote as so many map makers have put many hours into their maps.

Credits

Kersher – For initial near final play testing and suggestions.
Infraction – On youtube for their amazing music talent given to everyone to use.

Hints

Seems the first major challenge some folks are finding is with the red key to let you out of the cell… It’s under the guard sitting to the left of the cell door.
