Description:
BACKGROUND

Developed by OMUA (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency), a (fictional) multinational marine research agency over the span of 3 years, the Cont III minisub is a fully self-sufficient submarine capable of deep sea exploration, deploying divers and performing rescue missions. For ease of transport, the Cont III is ISO container sized, allowing for easy storage or deployment using existing ISO container cranes and connectors. Controlled by automated and digital systems, the Cont II’s systems feature a controllable manipulator arm with mag-alls, a deployable tethered ROV with mag-all and mounted welder, and a four diver airlock. The minisub is equipped with a diesel generator for recharging the batteries, equipment for diving missions, and a state-of-art balancing and depth hold system, utilizing four propellers on pivots on the four corners. The airlock system uses water from the ballast tanks, therefore never adds additional weight to the delicate balance.
