Voxel Loco ‘DF’ Type 4CK
Introduction to R&D History：
The ‘DongFeng’ 4CK fast passenger diesel locomotive was improved from the previously developed ‘DongFeng’ 4C diesel locomotive by China’s Ziyang Locomotive Factory. In 1999, two locomotives were successfully manufactured without mass production. The characteristic of this type of diesel locomotive is the A1A bogie, which has strengthened the body to a certain extent. During testing, the top speed reached 176KM/H. However, due to its small power, it is difficult for a single locomotive to reach the upper limit speed of 160KM/H when towing a standard single-layer 18 car passenger train. Therefore, these two locomotives are usually used to tow 8 car passenger trains for medium and long-distance passenger transportation services. Finally, two locomotives were successively sealed and scrapped in 2015, with one locomotive of this type numbered DF4C-5275 still sealed at Sanshui locomotive depot.
