历史信息介绍Introduction to R&D History：
东风8C型交流电传动内燃机车，是戚墅堰机车厂根据1997年同铁道部签订的’交流电传动内燃机车研制’的合同，并结合了2000年铁道科技开发项目中计划的’5800马力交流电传动内燃机车研制’的计划为项目开端。首台机车在2003年研制成功，机车采用了奥地利AVL公司协助改进的可输出4705KW的R16V280ZJ型柴油机、Bombardier公司进口的轮轴控制系统、IGBT系统软硬件和液冷散热交流电传动系统‘，在随后的2005年再次生产了两台改进型。这一型机车和东风8BJ型内燃机车的命运相同，没再继续发展；而三台机车最终在2017年在长治北机务段因故障频繁且专利技术到期无法维修封存报废。最后0001号机车于2021年被收藏于中国铁道博物馆，而两台改进型机车仍在长治北机务段封存。

Dongfeng 8C AC electric drive diesel locomotive (numbered DF8CJ, J=AC Electric Drive) is a contract signed by Qishuyan Locomotive Factory with the Ministry of Railways in 1997 for the development of AC electric drive diesel locomotives, which was combined with the plan for the development of 5800 horsepower AC electric drive diesel locomotives in the 2000 Railway Science and Technology Development Project. The first locomotive was successfully developed in 2003, using the R16V280ZJ diesel engine with an output of 4705KW, which was improved with the assistance of AVL in Austria. The locomotive also features an imported wheel axle control system from Bombardier IGBT system software and hardware, as well as liquid cooled AC power transmission system. One prototype car and two improved models were produced in 2003 and 2005. This type of locomotive has the same fate as the Dongfeng 8BJ diesel locomotive and has not continued to develop; And the three locomotives were ultimately scrapped and sealed in 2017 at the Changzhi North Locomotive Depot due to frequent malfunctions and expired patent technology. The last locomotive, No. 0001, was collected at the China Railway Museum in 2021, while two improved locomotives are still sealed at the Changzhi North Locomotive Depot.
