Strategists can duel!
Do you ever wonder why the blue guys get swords while they refuse to actually use them? Sure, the blood would mess up their fancy robes, but that doesn’t stop anyone else. Let them stab people!
This mod allows strategists to duel other heroes in romance mode. They aren’t very good at it, but now it’s an option. AI strategists will also propose and reject duels according to their normal rules (in kv_rules), though because strategists aren’t outfitted for combat they generally won’t want to duel except against other strategists.
Technical Bits
This mod works by adding the following four abilities to every "water" hero (strategist) in land_units_to_unit_abilities_junctions_table:
Some yellow turban heroes like He Yi are marked as water heroes, but since they are already allowed to duel, they are unchanged.
Compatibility
This mod adds database lines but does not modify existing ones. As such, it should be compatible with all other mods. However, if you use mods that add unique strategists to the game, they will not be able to duel unless the mod author allows them to. This mod is fully compatible with mods that change dueling parameters.
Tao Qian and Mandate of Heaven strategists are included in this mod, but no DLCs are required to run it. Nothing will happen if you don’t have them.
