In the aftermath of economic collapse caused by mass deportations and tariffs, the 2026 midterms deal a deathblow to Republican power. Democrats secure a landslide two-thirds majority in the House and 52 Senate seats, but Donald Trump refuses to concede defeat. On January 2, 2027, he is assassinated in Washington D.C.
His successor, President JD Vance, declares martial law, flees to Ohio, and is impeached by Congress. But it’s too late: the country has fractured. Three factions rise:
