VMX-21 "Hydra" Gunship

The VMX-21 "Hydra" Gunship is a quad-tiltrotor support and assault aircraft. Compared to the VM-3A and VA-2C, it is significantly less maneuverable due to its large and heavily armored airframe. However, with a multitude of remote controlled machine guns, miniguns, canister launchers, rocket and missile pods, it boasts a devastating amount of combined firepower. (Inspired by the helicopters in James Cameron’s Avatar)

Rotors and cockpit glass panels can be individually destroyed. Destroying a rotor will cause the helicopter to become unstable, destroying both rotors on either side will cause a complete loss of control. The pilot and gunners can be killed by direct hits when the glass protection is gone.

The "Hydra" has 1 pilot and 7 gunner seats.

• 2x TA-302 Dual Chin Guns
• 4x VF-45 WAFAR-S Missile Pod
• 8x Falcon AGM-217 HELLFIRE Missile

Cockpit Gunner:

• 1x GAU 26-C Dual Gatling Gun
• 16x AGM-12 Laser Guided Missile (Incendiary Warhead)

Bottom HMG Gunner:

• 1x Dual TA-302 Hexad Chin Guns

Top AA Gunner:

• 1x GAU 26-C Dual Gatling Gun

2x Stubwing Gunner:

• 1x TA-302 Dual Chin Guns
• 1x CL-33 Gas Canister Launcher

2x Rear Gunner:

• 1x TA-302 Dual Chin Guns

The pilot can activate flares when being locked on.

The AGM-12 Incendiary Missile creates a short firestorm that burns infantry groups and vehicle occupants.

The CL-33 Gas Canister creates a gas cloud that acts as a smokescreen and damages infantry groups and vehicle occupants.

This helicopter is made after the C21 Dragon Gunship from Avatar. It is HUGE and will not properly spawn on maps with small and cramped spawn areas. I wanted to stay true to its scale, so this is a compromise that had to be made. The plane or bomber slot can sometimes be helpful on maps where there is a unobstructed runway
