Description:

The mod changes crash behaviour for WW2 planes, to remove unrealistic bouncing.

The effect depends on plane’s velocity, and adds additional explosion sources if there was any bombs equipped.
Supported mods: IFA3/LEN, Faces of War, Secret Weapons/Flying Legends.

This is the standalone version of anti-bouncing script from Overthrow WW2 mod, made by request.

Q: What is the difference with the No More Aircraft Bouncing mod?
A: NMAB doesn’t work well in the most of the cases for WW2 planes, that is why this mod was created.
NMAB can’t eliminate bouncing when plane is touching any other object, especially trees, and it doesn’t disable plane’s wreck physics, so being between trees it can start to bounce again, even with zero x and y velocities.
WW2 planes may have many bugs. Some IFA3 planes dont’ have a proper wreck geometry, so the wreck looks like a usual plane. SW planes have bugged wrecks, and other issues.
So, I see no other way, for high (< -30) vertical velocities, than to destroy the plane completely. For lower values the script tries to put the plane on the ground.

Of course, it would be great to left some wreck particles after a crash, but I don’t have proper models yet (wings, tails and so). Anyway, even without wrecks it is much better than to leave plane’s wreck on the ground. For example:
