[VJ] Combine Flame Trooper (NPC)

May I introduce you all to the Combine Flame Trooper. This is a Combine Soldier that specializes in sector decontamination… with cleansing fire. Usually deployed as part of clean-up crews, these troopers are excellent at clearing out necrotics, xen infestations, and rebel camps. They are equipped with a combine flame thrower, fuel tank, and flame resistant padded armor.
When these troopers spot and enemy, they will quickly run to close the distance until they are in an effective range to use their flame thrower. This weapon will instantly ignite most enemies (and allies) caught in its cone. The cone is more than wide enough to hit several targets at once.
If outside of the effective range of his flame thrower the Flamer Trooper can switch to the fire bomb launcher on his flame thrower to pelt targets from a far.
The Flame Trooper’s padded armor makes him immune to fire and gives him extra resistance to most other forms of damage. However, his biggest weakness is the fuel tank on his back. If it sustains enough damage, the fuel will ignite and explode killing the trooper and igniting everything else in the area around it.

- Dynamic behavior based on distance to target
- Flame thrower particles and sound effects

I just want to release a few more Combine npcs first before I start filling out the Rebels’ roster.
