The Gmod Staff
(Category : Multiversal Game)
Inspired of Alan Becker’s Animation VS Minecraft Episode 25 on Youtube, and adapted to Garry’s Mod, despite my limited knowledge of Lua!
The Gmod Staff, like King Orange’s staff in the animation serie, has several modes and features, that is to say, you can also change the block the staff harnesses its energy and potential from.
The Command block’s 5 modes
- Regular : Place blocks normally, wherever you’re looking at.
- Frozen : Place blocks that are frozen, akin to the Physic Gun’s freezing feature
- Wall : Create a 3*3 wall on either of your 4 directions.
- Teleport : Teleport yourself or a selected NPC (With Left click) to where you’re looking at.
- Bridge : Registers your current height position, and place a block only at your height.

The Game icon’s 6 modes
- Regular : Place strange barrels normally, wherever you’re looking at.
- Frozen : Place barrels that are frozen, akin to the Physic Gun’s freezing feature
- Wall : Create a 5*3 wall on either of your 4 directions.
- Bridge : Registers your current height position, and place a plastic platform only at your height.
- Teleport : Teleport yourself to where you’re looking at.
- Annihilation : Turn the Staff into an offensive weapon, LMB shoots a singular laser, and RMB fires continuously.

You cannot change modes when you’re using another block other than Command block and the Game icon.
To change block, hit on any compatible blocks (Either spawned from Minecraft SWEP or from the very spawnmenu) with :
- The left click if you use Command block or the Game icon
- The right click if you any another block
and you’ll change the block in the staff. You can only have one staff’s block at a time!
⚠️I know the Staff have some problems in Multiplayer, I’ve tested multiplayer by occasion, but I’ll see someday if I can try to fix those errors, later.
Q : Why can I have only one staff in my weapon selection menu??
A : It’s the purpose of the staff.
Q : How can I change staff other than the spawnmenu’s weapon tab?
A : I wouldn’t say you change staff, you just change the block in the staff upon hindsight. To change them, hit a compatible block with the left click if you use the Command block, or the right click if you use another block.
Q : To change blocks, why the Command block use Left click, and the others right click?
A : That is an interesting question. The command block is the only one to have features and able to place blocks. I could just smack everything on the left click, but some other blocks grant you knockback. If you spawned a block or a prop somewhere and want to toss it to some NPCs, the left click is your best bet. Otherwise, Right click would have been useless.
Q : Are you going to add more features to the Command block?
A : Not sure. I’ll probably review the Wall mode so that the walls appear around you when you’re falling to protect from all sides.
Q : Why is obsidian block mode a thing? Where is Netherite?
A : Since the original Minecraft addon which is required for this addon to work doesn’t have the newest blocks from version over 1.9, I had to go with a valid replacement. Obsidian was the first block that came up my mind.
Q : Can you freeze NPCs like King Orange does to Piglins Brutes in the Animation, or even grab people?
A : No. This is something I cannot really achieve due to my limited Lua knowledge.
I’ve already tried some Lua functions before updating the addon with the Teleport mode, and none work as intended.
Q : Why bridge mode?
A : The funny thing about why I added bridge mode is because it’s something King Orange has used only twice or thrice in the animation, and as I know some places in Gmod maps are separated by a giant gap, bridge mode might be your best bet!
Q : Annihilation mode is OP!
A : Yes, I know. Have you watched the animations? That’s supposed to be recreating King Orange’s White void beam, but made-in-Gmod. It has its reasons to be powerful (It cannot turn off God Mode like my MekoProton Supressor.)
Q : Why can’t I use the NPC teleportation with the Game icon?
A : It’s both because I have a lua limitation (A code that conflicts with both modes) and it rather feels likely to add the NPC teleportation to the Command than the Game icon, which is rather more towards powerful combat than transportation.
Q : Will you update the staffs accordingly to the latest Lucky block episode?
A : Ehmm… Probably not. 😯
