The Disgusting Small Shop of Ascot

The famous unnamed small shop of Ascot, home to god knows who or what lives here. This place is rather famous in Ascot due to it’s history. Reports of murder, criminal activity and even supernatural sightings have been surrounding the area and no one knows who it’s true owner really is. The shop has 2 extra floors and one basement, the floors meant for the residents of a nearby apartment block and people working at the shop. The basement, no one really knows what it’s true purpose is other than hippies live there.
You enter the shop and immediately sniff sewage coming from somewhere inside. The entire place is trashed, left unfinished for 40 years, rats populate the area, they didn’t even install doors. You cover your nose, almost puking from the stench but slowly you get familiar with it. You know you won’t find much here, since it’s already been visited by countless amounts of urban explorers and ghost hunters before, along with tourists as well. But you may find something new this time.
This is the most ambitious yet most bloody painful map I’ve ever developed on, using visual effects that I’ve never even touched in my entire 6-7 years of using Hammer and populating the area with so many props it slowed the editor down to a snail’s pace.
This went from "oh yeah this is really cool I’m loving this!" to "someone end my misery already." If an entire month of development wasn’t a big enough sign of my already broken mental state I don’t know what else is. I hope all of this is worth it in the end.
