Camp Kairo Training Facility
Camp Kairo is a training facility based in Kairo, Arizona, far away from the city of Ascot. It offers your basic lessons on firearms handling and shooting, a gunsmith along with indoor and outdoor firing simulators. It was one of the first facilities established in the region, sometime around 1972 when the military was in need of soldiers. While other facilities have superseded it in terms of functionality, they can never beat the gorgeous views and general quietness of the area around it. So much so, that the facility has put in place a basketball court.
A map like this was bound to happen. After many, many years of making gun range maps, it would all eventually build up into this. I was talking to a certain nerd in Speedo’s about Ground Branch as I was trying to make a map inspired from it. Eventually, I landed on recreating the entire training facility from but as always, it deviated away and turned into its own thing. There was a larger amount of effort put into details than most of my maps, such as the shoothouse, warehouses and general aesthetic. It was all very fun, even though university got in the way of making this map.
