Operation Desert Storm
January 17th 1991, Time: 0300, Begin of Operation Desert Storm, the "Mother of all battles", as called by the Iraqis. It was the largest military buildup since WW2, which aimed to drive back all Iraqi forces from Kuwait, which had previously been invaded and annexed by Iraq.
Your objective is to punch through the enemy defensive lines and capture the city of Kuwait.
For this you have several US Navy elements to your disposal, as well as one US Airforce division and two US Marine divisions.
This mission is a true full specturm operation, and you will command air, land and sea units all at once. Therefore you should bring a lot of time, since it is a very large mission. Nonetheless, it is still only a small portion of what the real Operation Desert Storm consisted of.
To win the battle as the coalition forces, you will have to bring at least one unit of 1st Marine Division, one unit of 2nd Marine Division, as well as one unit of 1st Brigade into the designated area in Kuwait city.
To win as Iraq, you must destroy all enemy land forces.
I’ve tried to put as much emphasis on historical accuracy as possible, but many units that should have been present in this operation simply aren’t in the game yet, such as F/A18, F111, F117, AH64, and many ships and other planes. But I will update the mission if those units ever find their way into the game.
Also, the framerate on my end was not good at all. I am not sure if the game requires more optimization, or if the mission is simply too large for the game to handle. So beware.
