Core 9 Compact Agile Combat CV
Created for the Anvil Designers Challenge September 2024 and since tweaked.
Maul XCV, Core 9 compact shield fighter. Suggested loadouts from Core 7 to Core 13 – see the LCD in the CPU bay in Engineering. Weapons, thrusters etc controlled from the signals section of the ‘P’ menu. Mostly hardened steel hull with combat steel/xeno steel in the nose and around critical components. Decoys in the nose (2 small generators, 2 light laser cannons). Rear mounted alarm sentries to try and detect those sneaky Drone Nullifiers jumping you while you’re looting their comrades.
In single player it can handle an Imerat at Core 7 (easier at higher cores) in multi-player will probably want Core 8/9. Tested against Legacy Devestator and Eradicator at Core 13. Stay mobile and don’t lose the shield, retreat to recharge if necessary, suggest a flat orbit around the target between 800-900m or use the low profile to hide in blindspots. Fire the railguns to help with shield takedown.

Copies some block shaping and the ‘wing’ idea from Xcaliber’s 2021 Kalich Bludgeon, 2 LCDs modified from sulusdacor. Many thanks to all the fantastic designers out there for the inspiration.
