Description

This mod is mainly devoted to various aspects of how your Farmers and their faithful insect friends Sweetle and Grubgrub take care of plants and accelerate their growth. As well as a range of additional tweaks.

Did you want to decorate your base with various decorative plants? But in a normal game, their seeds cannot be propagated, only randomly obtained from the portal. Now you can.

Now farmers and their insect friends can apply their accelerating effects to many non-yielding plants. Every time they do this, there is a chance that a new hidden seed will spawn. For reasons of balance, the chance is greater for decorative plants and less for Oxyfern and Wheezewort. Experiment 52B still cannot be propagated.
The Pip wants to extract these hidden seeds. To do this, Pip must be able to get to the plant. The easiest way is to plant decorative plants in Wall or Hanging Pots.
If you don’t want to mess with the Pip, you can enable in the settings seed drop after a while.

The characteristics of many plants now dynamically change depending on their growth rate, for example:

  • speed of converting carbon dioxide into oxygen by Oxyfern.
  • cooling power and radiation emission by Wheezewort.
  • rate of gas absorption by Dasha Saltvine.
  • rate of gas production by Saturn Critter Trap. So you will always get the same amount of Gas for each sacrificed Creature.
  • rate of Nectar production by Bonbon Tree, depending on growth rate of each its branch.
  • speed of eating food and conversion rate calories into Resine by Experiment 52B tree.
Additional tweaks
  • Fixed a bug that caused the level upped the Machinery attribute instead of Agriculture when tinkering with plants.
  • Now, when planting decorative plants in pots, the decor is displayed correctly in the seed selection window.
  • Farmers and their insect friends will not try to accelerate the growth of wilted or non-growing plants, including fully grown plants, sleeping Gas Grass and the hunger Saturn Critter Trap.
  • Fixed inconsistent behavior of wilted plants that started absorbing solid fertilizers after reloading the save file.
  • Non-growing plants will not absorb solid and liquid fertilizers.
  • It is easier for Insects to reach plants growing down from the ceiling, such as Pincha Pepperplant.
  • Disabled the Food has decayed notification when the Exuberant mutant plant was harvested.
  • Unlocked Arbor Tree mutations. These mutations are provided within the game, but were not used for some reason.
  • The Saturn Critter Trap can produce seeds when harvesting.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Duplicants could not manually extract Nectar from a Bonbon Tree planted in a Planter Box.
  • Unlocked Bonbon Tree mutations. Mutated seeds are obtained when Seal drink Nectar from an non-mutated Bonbon Tree.
  • Now mutations affect the Nectar production rate: the higher the Yield Amount and the shorter the Life Cycle, the higher the production rate.
Configuration

You can configure this mod via the Main menu -> Mods -> Better Farming Effects and Tweaks -> Options
You can adjust and turn off/on most features.
Some Options are not displayed if You does not own the corresponding DLC.
