Included in this addon are the following maps:
The map’s playable space is in the shape of 2 long battle lines meeting at a central defensible position at a right angle. There is also a fight box above a certain altitude allowing for cross-field artillery shots and aircraft use.
The map is primarily designed for 1v1 faction combat, with the map favouring the defender over the attacker with the C trench being a free-for-all.
Every trench has a dugout, some have more than 1 with each being either too small to be easily campable or have alternate entrances or grenade options.
There are direct elevated routes between the trenches that allow for quick re-enforcements with more covered, winding paths for when players are attempting to approach an enemy trench.
The main POIs (Point’s of interest) are:
Built behind a mostly intact dike, the allied home trenches sprawl mostly on the surface, with small wooden dugouts limited by the wet farmland terrain.
Built into a bombed-out dike wall, incorporating the remains of a windmill and the basement of an old farmhouse.
Marking the end of the reclaimed farmland, the trench straddles two levels, utilising the mostly intact drainage ditch and dike for defence though bombing has left it with more than a few crater holes.
Worming its way around and inside the hill overlooking the area, C trench is a defensible high ground which both sides are fighting over. The remains of the nearby town’s chapel and graveyard overlook both trench lines.
Previously marking the beginning of the woods, D is deep and well-built including a dugout defensible position under a large oak. It’s thick roots giving shelter to the soldiers below.
Further into the remains of the woods, E traverses up and around a small hill, allowing good views across the devastated woodlands.
Based around an old logging building, the Germans have a large network of well-constructed tunnels with 4 entrances behind a set of defensible trench lines.
