NMBS 186
The locomotives of the NMBS Series 28 were initially rented for cross-border freight transport in Germany, the Netherlands and of course Belgium. The locomotives were used in the first years by the cooperative COBRA (Corridor Operation B-Cargo Railion). This collaboration was established in December 2009. The objective was freight transport between the port of Antwerp and Germany. They have leased 43 locomotives via Angels Trans for a period of 10 years. The locomotives have been allowed on the Belgian track since 28 April 2008. The COBRA collaboration was terminated on December 1, 2017.The series 28 locomotives were also used in the Benelux train from 9 September 2009 (Amsterdam – Brussels v.v.). Until December 13, 2009 together with locomotives of the series 11.8 and NS Hispeedlocs series 186 the latter were technically the same as series 28.
