Description:

A mod which adds the Lighthouse of Alexandria as a special building, it starts as a ruin, but can be rebuilt. According to the Wikipedia page it was only destroyed in the 1400s, whilst being a ruin prior to this during the Medieval ages, there is no event for its permanent destruction.

The lighthouse has 2 stages with a base cost of 1500 gold to upgrade, and uses the model from the ‘Farum Brigantium’ or ‘Tower of Hercules’ in Galicia, Spain

As a ruin:
– Decreased construction time by 10%
– +1% monthly renown
– +0.1 monthly prestige

Upgraded:
– +5% monthly renown
– +0.3 monthly prestige
– Naval speed +25%
– Embarkation cost -25%
– Danger in province -25
– Hostile raid time 100%
– Holding taxes +40%
– Development growth 50%
– Development +0.1 per month
– An additional +2 gold a month

This is an English only mod, I am unsure of how it’ll appear in other languages.

This mod would likely be incompatible with a mod that alters the provinces ‘Alexandria’ and the barony ‘Wadi Natrun’, as I moved the holy site to Wadi Natrun make space for the Lighthouse. Also it probably isn’t compatible with overhaul mods that change the map drastically.

Let me know if there’s anything not working with the mod. untested for balance but I mostly did it as a ‘for fun’ mod.

I’ve checked, it seems compatible with RICE (Regional Immersion and Cultural Enrichment, also a must-have mod for CK3 for me with very fun Egypt and Nile mechanics): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2273832430

This mod alters (but does not replace) the following files:
’00_special_buildings’ (found in common > buildings)
’00_holy_sites’ (found in common > religion > holy_sites)
’00_custom_localization’ and ’00_travel’ (both found in common > customizable_localization)
‘k_egypt’ (found in history > provinces)
‘buildings_l_english’ (localization > english)
‘tourism_destinations_l_english’ (localization > english > travel)
