Description:

Basically, the Metroliner was an EMU (electric-multiple unit) railcar mainly designed for first-class, high-speed passenger service on the Northeast Corridor between New York and Washington, and vice versa. 61 were ordered in 1966 by the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) but service was delayed by difficulties on the railcars’ testing, which led to the PRR’s successor, the Penn Central (PC), starting operation with them in 1969 on the Metroliner train service; later in 1971, Amtrak took over the service. The Metroliners, despite high aspirations, proved to have a poor reliability; despite being electrically flawed, however, they proved sound mechanically, with Amtrak ordering 600 Amfleets (which shared a similar design to the Metroliner) in the mid-70s. This pack contains 3 different versions of the Metroliner (club car, coach car, snack car), all having bell audio, horn audio (now an accurate Leslie S55 + Leslie S37 duo), lights (headlight, numberboard, marker lights, the random light in the rear, windows) and, in general, revised models. Liveries and edits off of these are allowed, just credit me and mark this as a Required Item.
