Young Link (Majora’s Mask)
Young Link joins the battle! This time, he comes with a Majora’s Mask inspired moveset.
Young Link, while sporting the 3 transformation masks from Majora’s Mask, maintains the ping-pong projectile combo playstyle that he had in Smash Ultimate, with some big changes.
Most notably, his specials have all been changed.
Nspecial: Slingshot
Young Link pulls out his slingshot from Ocarina of Time (I know it’s not in MM I just thought it would fit him as a character better) and shoots a deku seed. This very briefly stuns opponents in place and launches them a very slight distance, working very simiarly to the fire arrow from smash. If charged, The seed will travel much faster, and will stun the opponent for a significantly longer amount of time, and then launch them quite a distance.
Fspecial: Zora Boomerang
Young Link Dons the Zora mask and throws a boomerang. This boomerang works very differently to his Smash one, though. When an opponent gets hit by it, they get launched up and toward Young Link, making his signature boomerang combos harder at first, but much more powerful if you can predict where the opponent will get sent. The boomerang also does not stop when hitting an opponent and can hit an opponent multiple times. The other notable change that this boomerang has is its ability to home into Young Link no matter what. If it’s moving away from him, it will actually turn around to keep following him, opening up the possibility of adjusting the trajectory of the boomerang mid flight to catch an opponent.
Dspecial: Powder Keg
Young Link dons the Goron mask and pulls out a powder keg. Once placed down, he can use any of his projectiles to set off the powder keg, doing massive damage to anyone in range, including him if he isn’t careful. The powder keg will also explode on its own without warning, so be wary when it’s on the field.
Uspecial: Deku Flower
Using the Deku mask, Young Link burrows into a deku flower, and then shoots up. this will either go low or high depending on if you held down b for a short time after the startup frames. After the launch, he will pull out a flower and glide, similarly to Game & Watch’s uspecial.
