Pause Upon Save Load – an Utility Mod
Ever got annoyed when you step aside from your computer while the game loads, to find your characters in the midst of a battle, or worse dead, when you come back? Wishing the game would begin paused?
This mod adds a neutral faction of flying droids to the game. Their only purpose is to offer you this functionality AND enemy detection on the go or around your base.
You can hire a droid for free in four Droid Distribution Outposts;
in the Borderlands (between the Hub and Squin),
the Hook (right outside Clownsteady),
the Great Desert (South from Stoat) and
the Flats Lagoon (right outside).
This is very much a cheat: the droid cannot be killed easily and the Holy Nation could care less. They exist on the outside of the game society.
Why do the Pauser droids offer this service? To study human behavior, of course!
LOAD ORDER, IMPORT and CONFLICTS
Load anywhere, import needed, conflicts with other mods if they add towns to the same locations (I chose very awkward spots on top of hills to prevent this).
MODDERS
Full permission to -everything- in this mod, no need to mention me.
CUSTOM RACES and FACTIONS
This mod only works with vanilla factions. But animals should be possible to detect modded or not.
DISCLAIMER
The detection mode is not 100% reliable. If the droid sees something, you can trust that, BUT it is very likely sometimes the droid cannot see what is in front of it, mostly due to scanner overflow (too many targets). I did my best to mitigate this.
And oh, might also mention: the droids swim under surface due to their odd bone structure.

Droid is not infallible. If it sees something out of your range, you can trust it, but it is also possible it cannot see something you see in front of you. The droid operates on visual scanning technology and can roll an one on perception check… not to mention if there are multiple targets, the droid may miss some of them due the game capping the ‘fluff’.
USER GUIDE
PAUSING
1) Make sure the droid is looking at you.
2) Set Pausing on.
3) Save the game and exit.The Droid will speak to you to pause the game as soon as the game is loaded and it sees a player character.
DETECTION
1) You can either set the droid to stay or to follow.
2) If you set it to stay, leave a character to hear the notifications.
3) Set desired detection mode on.
4) Watch the droid or read from dialogue log later.See operations parameters for limitations of the scanner.
After each choice, let the droid change the relation-booleans before clicking it again. It may take a few seconds.
BATTLE
The droid is a very good dodger, but makes almost non-existent damage. It can get damaged and KOed,
but it cannot die easily. The droid does not do medic nor does it carry people to beds.You can set the droid to park and not engage to keep it from taking part in the battle. This makes the droid not being your ally. To ease finding it again the droid is set to constantly speak in this mode.
The droid will also yell ‘alert in combat’ if in detection mode and it gets attacked.
The droid does not yell alerts if it is not in detection mode.
