The South Sea Company
The South Sea Company: A Story in Three Acts is a chain of 18 flavor events that lets you play through some of the greatest financial chicanery ever attempted. Witness the a daring tale of statecraft, corruption, and really, really wild accounting practices as you dance with the devil himself: the devil of modern finance.
The first event in this chain can kick off if you are playing Great Britain or England, and you meet the following criteria:
– The year is between 1700 and 1720
– You have at least one province in Ireland
– You have at least 5 active loans
To keep going in the chain, the following has to be true as well:
– Be at war with Spain
– Spain has at least 10 provinces in South America
– Great Britain does NOT have 10 provinces in South America
The easiest way to fire the chain is to start as England in the War of the Spanish Succession bookmark.
