Description:

New Jersey battleship (BB-62) is the second Iowa class battleship built by the US Navy during the early stages of World War II, and also the second ship named after New Jersey. As the flagship of the fleet, New Jersey never avoids battle. Wherever support is needed from battleships, New Jersey will definitely appear at the forefront of the battle, even at the forefront of the battlefield. During her entire service life, New Jersey received a total of 16 Battle Stars and was hailed as the "most prestigious battleship in the history of the United States Navy." She underwent two modernization renovations and was preserved as a museum ship in 2000, witnessing the glory of the United States Navy

In the late 1930s, the US Navy reintroduced the concept of battleships to support fast aircraft carriers and protect them from attacks by heavy cruisers and battlecruisers. The lifting of international restrictions has made it possible to manufacture warships with good defense capabilities and powerful weaponry. In this context, the high-speed battleship plan, taking the Iowa class battleships as an example, was born: a giant "rowing boat" with a maximum speed of 33 knots

The New Jersey is designed to be equipped with nine MK-7 406mm naval guns to deliver devastating strikes to any enemy on the horizon who dares to approach it, and is also equipped with 10 MK.12 127mm secondary guns for assistance – they have very strong firepower delivery and air defense capabilities. The New Jersey also has a staggering main armor belt thickness of 12.1 inches and an armor deck thickness of 6-7 inches. The unconventional hull design and the extremely high speed brought by the powerful main propulsion system make this behemoth very difficult to sink in battle

In addition, the entire ship is equipped with over 140 20mm oerlikon and 40mm anti-aircraft guns, combined with the assistance of a 127mm MK.12 DP secondary gun, which gives it a highly efficient air-to-air capability. This excellent feature enables New Jersey to provide excellent cover for accompanying aircraft carriers in formation, and is highly favored by aircraft carriers in combat

However, New Jersey and its sister ships, as the only ones capable of countering the threat of another behemoth from across the ocean – IJN Yamato, did not have the opportunity to compete with them. The rapid development of the naval aviation industry led the US Navy to ultimately entrust this task to a new generation of aircraft carriers led by the Essex class. Under the siege of over 400 carrier based aircraft of various types, Yamato and Musashi sank one after another. The opportunity for the most powerful battleships of the United States and Japan to engage in a naval confrontation has forever disappeared.

After the end of World War II, the New Jersey once again served as the flagship of the Seventh Fleet and participated in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Lebanese Civil War. During this period, it underwent two modernization renovations, dismantling a large number of high altitude 127mm secondary guns and anti-aircraft machine guns, but obtaining a very unique anti-ship missile for battleships – BGM-109 (Tomahawk), but that was already an off topic matter

In the game NAVALART, the American IX class battleships are recreated in their original historical form, which entered service in 1943

Now, pilot this largest and strongest Black Dragon to perform a true legendary epic, Captain!
