Dongfeng 4C diesel locomotive (DF4C) is one of the mainline freight diesel locomotive models used by Chinese railways. It was successfully developed by Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works in 1985 and put into mass production in 1990. Dongfeng 4C diesel locomotive is an upgraded product developed on the basis of Dongfeng 4B diesel locomotive. It is equipped with an improved diesel engine with a maximum power of 3,600 horsepower (2,645 kilowatts). Big improvement. Compared with Dongfeng 4B locomotive, Dongfeng 4C diesel locomotive not only has higher operating power, but also is superior to the former in terms of traction speed and economy, and makes the weight distribution of the locomotive more reasonable. In addition to Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works, Ziyang Diesel Locomotive Works, Datong Locomotive Works and Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works have all produced Dongfeng 4C locomotives. As of the cessation of production in 1999, the four locomotive factories in Dalian, Datong, Sifang, and Ziyang produced a total of 845 Dongfeng 4C freight locomotives.
