Description:

This mod adds a a few tiers of armor to the game. The focus was basically to make small improvements researchable without breaking the game.

I am not a modeller, so the equipment mostly relies on under-used/unused coloring on certain types of clothing to be visually distinct, as well as custom icons for most of the armor which makes it recognizable in the inventory screen.

In order to craft a number of these sets of armor, you will need to buy a related recipe from a vendor. For example, studded ninja rags exists, but in order to craft them you need to buy the "ninja gear" research from a vendor and then research "improved ninja rags" in the research bench.

The new tiers are:

*Quiltcloth – An advanced form of cloth armor that utilizes cotton padding for protection. It is a leather tier armor that has lower cut resistance but high blunt resistance, sort of filling out that gap in the armor ecosystem. It is very situational but the tier contains a couple straight upgrades that might be useful even lategame.

*Studded Leather – Leather studded with bits of steel, which gives it a bit more cut resistance. It offers about 10%ish more resistance which I felt wasn’t too crazy~

*Steel plated armor – Heavy plate armor made with refined steel plates instead of iron plates. In addition to a couple straight upgrades, there are exotic new designs which would excite even the most sardonic tech hunter.

In addition to these gear types, there are also:

Batch Armor Recipes: Similarly to how you can buy the recipe for multiple types of polearms, there are recipes for whole sets of armor. I needed to do this in order to make prerequisites for certain "improved X armor" researches. To find these recipes you need go to armor shops, which will have them from time to time. If ever there was an incompatability with this mod it’d be here probably :[

New bandit armors: A couple bandit factions have begun manufacturing their own armor types in secret.

Blankets: You can sell them for money! Certain factions have more demand for them than others.

Armor tweaks: I tweaked a couple sets of base game armor. Drifter’s leather pants provide extra cut but less blunt resistance for example (by default it has +.2 blunt resist for whatever reason). In addition to that, some improved recipes for armor compensate for a crippling weakness it’s normal variant might have.
